The Reserve can be a good place to see dragonflies and damselflies, especially from May to September. The following species have been recorded on the reserve:
Four-Spotted Chasers Libellula quadrimaculata – usually seen from mid May to the end of August.
Common Darter Sympetrum striolatum – usually seen from mid June to the end of October.
Common Hawker Aeshna juncea – usually seen from mid June to October.
Hairy Hawker Brachytron pratense – usually seen early May to mid July.
Emperor Dragonfly Anax imperator – usually seen early June to late August.
Black-tailed Skimmer Orthetrum cancellatum – usually seen late May to August.
Common Blue Damselfly Enallagma cyathigerum – usually seen May to the end of August.
Large Red Damselfly Pyrrhosoma nymphula – usually seen late April to August.
Variable Damselfly Coenagrion pulchellum – usually seen May to the end of August.
Azure Damselfly Coenagrion puella – usually seen between May and August.
